If you wish (optional, don't have to, but welcome to if you wish), take a few moments and write a Blog Farewell in whatever form you want. Thank you all for your open, thoughtful contributions to this blog--It has been a wonderful place to 'hear' all of your voices in a different setting.
It's not really grammatically correct to say farewell, dear blog, because without all of us pouring ourselves into you, you won't be faring at all, well or otherwise. Instead, I will say thank you, dear blog, for giving me a forum to write about myself: to rant on bad days and to reflect on good ones. You have given me a place to be published, to be read (even when I look back at some of my posts and blush at the things I have shared), the opportunity to glimpse the lives of others on a level almost beyond mere classmate. Thank you, dear blog, I shan't forget you.
ReplyDeleteTo tell the truth, when this whole blog idea was first introduced at the beginning of the school year, I wasn’t terribly excited. I mean, I enjoy writing, but to think up something new almost every night seemed like a bit much. As the weeks passed, however, I found that these blog posts were becoming my favorite kind of homework. Yes, it took a small amount of time, which was a plus, but it wasn’t just that; I enjoyed dipping back into time to write out stories from my past, and I smiled while reading about the trials and tribulations of others. Occasionally, after finishing my homework, I would even take a break from my constant BugGuide-ing to see if others had written their blog posts.
ReplyDeleteNow, as the semester draws to a close, I must say that I will miss both this blog and this course, even though I was the only boy. Come to think of it, I actually liked that too. So, this being my last post on this blog, I shall end it as quickly as it started.
