Three words, hmm. Persistent - once I have a target identified, I won’t let go easily. If I wasn’t persistent, I couldn’t be an entomologist. Observer - I’m not one for talking a whole lot, but I’m good at listening and observing, people or insects. Finally, Insect - the one word that encapsulates my entire existence.
That question remind me to much of college applications. So I am going to change its meaning a little bit. I am going to write three words that describe me right now. 1. tired. I am not completely sure why I am so tired. I have been going to bed early, but I wake up in the mornings not refreshed. I also tend to fall asleep while I am doing my homework…. Something needs to change. 2. hot. When I got home the heat had not turned on so I put on my fleecy pants and crawled under two comforters. My cat came up to join me so between her body and the heat my computer is producing I am quite toasty. 3. foggy? My eyesight has gone downhill lately. Especially in the afternoon and evening everything becomes just a little foggy, like there is a thin veil over everything. I am getting my eyes checked in January, so hopefully that will change.
Three words that describe me...two of them are easy, the third, less so. 1. Smart. Boastful statement, of course, but I believe that it's true. This is, I think, the single adjective with which I identify the most, and that makes me a bit sad, sometimes. 2. Funny. Maybe I don't come off as being funny around most people, but I can make my family and close friends laugh, not to mention myself, so it should count. I value my sense of humor quite a bit. 3. This is the tough one. Kind comes to mind. Insecure/prone to worrying is also high on the list. Socially awkward is up there too, but I pretend that no one notices that except for when I want them to. Tenaciously affectionate is a good one. The people with whom I am close--my family and a few close friends--I am very close. I don't let go easily, emotionally. Nor physically: my parents know not to hug me too tightly or I won't release them....
1. Inquisitive. I have always been interested in how and why things happen. I was that kid who asked millions of questions (“why is the sky blue? How do microwaves work? Why are you telling me to be quiet?”) whenever I was around an all-knowing adult. 2. Observant. Maybe I get this from tennis, but I have always paid special attention to people and my surroundings. When I play I have to know every small adjustment going on for my own body and the body of my opponent, and I suppose being almost hyperaware of everyone around me is the result of that. 3. Thoughtful, or at least I like to think I am. I often overanalyze everything I say think of the ways it can be interpreted. If I ever say something impulsively, it is likely to repeat in my brain endlessly.
1. Careful. I worry way too much about pretty much everything and the people close to me who have seen the darkest side of this trait are constantly telling me to calm down, not think, and just enjoy something. I also get very uncomfortable if I don't understand something I think I should understand, and can not move forward until I carefully examine and fully understand it. 2. Clingy. I wouldn't say I'm clingy to people (for the most part I think I am actually the opposite) but I would say I am clingy to things, or ideas. Once I get my mind set on something it's very hard for me to give it up. I debated saying this was determined but that sounded too much like a positive thing for something I think is not always positive. 3. Intense. I couldn't think of a third so I asked my mom and without skipping a beat she said it. Then she said it again. I told you people always tell me to calm down.
The first word that comes to mind is Strong Willed. Once I get an idea into my head, I have to go through with it, otherwise, something just doesn't feel right. The next is Observant. I like to take the time to listen and watch what's going on around me. The last would be Creative. I'd say I'm pretty imaginative seeing as I write a lot on my own time, create plots and characters, and write a few poems too.
